A built-in accessibility toolkit

New tool — a Colour Blindness Simulator at uxspot.io/color-blindness: drop in a palette and see it the way people with colour vision deficiency do, with a heads-up whenever two colours become hard to tell apart.
It sits next to the WCAG Contrast Checker as a pair of free, in-browser accessibility tools — nothing to upload, nothing leaves your device. Both are one tap away from the Tools page.

A proper home for Spot Check

The Spot Check page now has a real front door: a scrolling walkthrough of how the game works, the rules in a sentence, the numbers behind it, and your daily habit — instead of dropping you straight into a run.
Hit Play from the hero (or the "Play" cards anywhere on the site) and the game launches just like before.

Share your Spot Check score anywhere

Finished a run? The result screen now has real share buttons — LinkedIn, X, WhatsApp, or copy the link — plus your phone’s own share sheet when it’s available.
Every shared score gets its own little page and a branded preview card, so when friends see it in their feed they get your grid and a "can you beat it?" nudge that drops them straight into today’s run.

Spot Check — the daily vocabulary game

There is a new game: Spot Check, now in the top menu (Practice) and at its own home, uxspot.io/practice. It shows you a term and a definition and asks one thing — does it fit? Tap the left of the screen for yes, the right for no.
Ten calls in a row, and it is sudden death: one wrong answer ends the run, so getting all ten is the goal. A fresh run lands every day.
Finish and you get a shareable score and a running streak to compare with friends — plus, when you slip, a quick note on what the term really meant. Every answer also tunes which terms come back to you.
Want to keep going? A no-limit Endless practice mode plays the same way without the sudden death, leaning on the terms you keep missing.
A "Play today's run" card now shows up around the site — on the homepage and the glossary — with your streak and today's score, so you can jump back in from anywhere.

Practice, promoted — and small reading comforts

The glossary practice is now easy to find: a "Practice the vocabulary" card sits right under the term panel on the glossary page — on your phone, it rides at the bottom of the term sheet.
The suggestion card in the sidebar and menu now rotates: flip between the checklists tip and the new glossary practice invite with the dots beneath it.
On phones, the little "Ink Mode" welcome note no longer lets the lesson text show through it.

Seven upgrades for the tech-savvy reader

The curriculum now remembers your journey: finished topics get a quiet check in the sidebar, chapters show how far you are, and the homepage offers to continue right where you left off.
Save the whole Learn UX course to your device from the Display & Reading sheet — every topic reads offline, planes included.
Listen to any lesson: a headphones button reads it aloud, highlighting each paragraph as it goes. Built as an accessibility feature, useful to everyone.
The ⌘K palette now takes action, not just searches: switch the theme, enter Ink Mode, resize text, or copy a page as Markdown.
Practice the vocabulary: glossary flashcards with light spaced repetition at uxspot.io/glossary/practice — plus a term of the day.
Select any passage in a lesson and copy a link that scrolls and highlights it for whoever opens it.

Ink Mode — read like a book

Every Learn UX lesson now has Ink Mode: one tap (or the F key) and everything but the lesson fades away — no menus, no panels, just the words with larger, comfortable type. Leave with Esc or the exit chip, and it remembers your choice for the next lesson.
It reads like a Kindle: a quiet "About 4 min left" keeps you oriented, and if you leave mid-lesson, Ink Mode reopens right where you stopped.
Need the menu? Nudge your cursor against the top of the screen (or tap up there on your phone) and the navigation slides down; move away and it slips back out of sight.
Even outside Ink Mode, reading got calmer: as you scroll down a lesson, the side panels fade back so the text has the stage — move toward them or scroll up and they return.
First time on a lesson? A small note points out the Ink Mode button so you know it exists — dismiss it once and it never returns.

The big polish: mobile pass, MCP page scenes & this changelog

The header slides away while you read and returns the moment you scroll back up — on every page, playing nicely with the "On this page" panel and the menu drawer.
Menu drawer refresh: warm frosted-glass surface, a staggered reveal for its links, a Home entry, and the GitHub star counter now visible on phones.
Search dismisses with the same animation it opens with — and closing it no longer nudges your reading position. Same fix for the Display & Reading sheet.
The site tells you when a new version is available — one tap on Refresh updates it. No more mystery stale pages.
MCP Server page, rebuilt in two acts: a pinned "anatomy of one call" scene — grid stage, floating annotation cards, live latency meter — and a draggable stats carousel with the repository's real numbers.
The MCP charcoal takeover now plays on phones too, with seamless bars (a subpixel gap between them is gone).
Hero headlines got their signature: "in one spot" and "your AI assistant can call" set in Roslindale italic with an animated hatched shadow; a radial clearing keeps the dotted grid out of the copy's way.
The interactive dot grid now responds to touch and is actually visible on phones.
Tools and Changelog pages centered into a readable column; Tools category titles condense into floating frosted pills as you scroll.
Glossary on mobile: the A–Z rail sits clear of the header, term sheets close cleanly, and the page head stepped aside.
New mobile footer: wordmark, Changelog / Privacy / Cookie / Terms links, About, and a copyright line.

The 2026 redesign lands

MCP Server page & mobile foundations

Checklists became a three-pane app: pick a list, tick items as you ship, and your progress saves in the browser.
Print any checklist to PDF, checkbox states included.
The tools directory was rebuilt for the AI era — 42 hand-picked tools across six categories, no affiliate links.
The About page got its redesign, and glossary letter-jumps landed exactly where they should.

Installable, offline, private
