Why it matters
The most expensive real estate on the site — first thing loaded, first thing judged. A hero earns its bytes when it communicates the offer faster than the headline alone; decoration at 2MB is a slow way to say nothing.
See it
The banner and the promise, above the fold — the hero either sells the offer at a glance or it is decoration.
