Think-Aloud Protocol
A usability technique where participants voice their thoughts as they use a product, revealing expectations, confusion, and reasoning in real time.
Why it matters
Watching someone struggle tells you where the problem is; hearing them narrate tells you why. 'I'm looking for a way to cancel... maybe under my profile?' is a mental model handed to you verbatim — no analytics event will ever capture it. The discipline is in staying silent: every time you explain, hint, or rescue, you erase the data you came for.
