Gesture
Any method of interaction a user has with information on their device using touch
Why it matters
Gestures buy screen space at the price of discoverability: a swipe has no button to find. The safe pattern is redundancy — every gesture needs a visible route to the same outcome, or a feature exists only for people who already know it exists.
