Why it matters

Error rates are a map of where your design lies to people — every slip is a spot where the interface suggested one thing and did another. The number alone is half the story: a high rate on a form field is annoying, the same rate on a payment amount is a lawsuit. Track where errors cluster and whether users recover, not just how many occur.
