A contract that gives one party legal protection against another party stealing their ideas or revealing proprietary information before a product is launched

Why it matters

For designers it mostly governs portfolios: that shipped work may not be showable. The workaround is professional habit — write case studies as anonymised process stories, and clear them before the interview loop.
