Value Proposition

A clear statement of the benefit a product gives its users and why it’s better than the alternatives — the reason someone would choose it.

Why it matters

The value proposition is the sentence every screen quietly argues for — and the first thing to test, because if people do not want the thing, no amount of usability makes them want it politely. The discipline is specificity: 'save an hour on every invoice' survives contact with a landing page, 'seamless workflow solutions' does not. If your team cannot say it in one sentence without the word 'platform,' the product strategy work is not finished.
